Cookshack Customer Testimonials

"Hi. I just opened my BBQ place - Boar Run BBQ in St.Charles,MO. 63301 using a Fast Eddy Smoker - the FEC100. We have been open one month and everyone that comes in becomes a regular. I consistetly turn out absolutley perfect BBQ. This thing is a horse. I run it at least 12 hours a day 7 days a week and haven't had any problems. When I have been wiped out on meat from a busy day, put some pork shoulders in the night before I went home and came back the next morning a nervous wreck because I hadn't been there to "tend to it" and when I popped the latches and checked it - it was perfect and totally tender. If business keeps picking up I will be upgrading to a bigger one next year. Thanks for a well built unit."

"I have been using your products both personally and professionally for nearly 12 years. About a decade ago I was a Corporate Trainer for Famous Dave's - I started having opened their fourth location. I have fond memories of learning a few techniques from Dave, but what always stood out was the quality and consistency of the meats from the Cookshack Smokers. I shifted to the finance industry, but my passion for BBQ and smoked meats remained. After having been introduced to Cookshack commercially, I picked up and frequently use your residential unit. Your company's products are superior and I turn as many friends on to your line as possible. I have also developed an awesome sauce with your seasoning, which is constantly in high demand with family and friends. I hope to someday open a small BBQ joint, and can say that I will continue to be a loyal customer."

Keep up the good work!

Erik

... the crew's moral just seemed to soar ...

I work on a drilling and exploration rig in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. We recently purcahed this smoker, and as soon as we plugged it in and got it rolling...the crews moral just seemed to soar. We in the catering department are happy to see this addition to our crew!

"The meat literally melted in our mouths."

To whom it may concern, I received my Cookshack Smokette Model 009 in stainless steel along with the storage cart/stand and a bunch of other accessories yesterday. After seasoning the smoker oven according to the directions in the Operator's Manual, I used your smoker oven for the first time to cook a tri-tip roast/steak today. May I just say that the meat was the most tender and flavorful that I have had the opportunity of tasting in a long time. The meat literally melted in our mouths. Thank you for providing such a great product at such a great price. The Cookshack Smokette has now become my primary smoker oven. One trial was all it took! I just want to thank you again for teaching me that "low and slow" is the way to the best BBQ!

"... so predictably good that it's almost scary!"

"I have had my unit for over a year and have used it I don’t know how many times. The meat comes out so predictably good that it’s almost scary! No breakdowns, it’s easy to clean between uses [us nurses are a clean freak lot] and I can really load it up! Everyone, to a person, that has seen me use an old out-of-date postage scale to weigh the wood that goes in thinks I have lost my senses. Then, when they see me go about not only fixing my Harley [a daily job on the old ones] but also go ride without worrying about constantly checking it, they are “We’ll wait and see”. When we ride back and break out the pork shoulder and quickly turn a 10-pound bone-in shoulder into about 5 pounds of righteous pulled pork, they faint. We have HUGE amounts of cherry and apple trees here as well as quite a few pear orchards. All of them make this pork so MMMMMMMMMMMM good."

Great Unit, Great Customer Service, Great Results

I have owned my Model 250 for over a year. I cook mostly pork, poultry and wild game. I have smoked whole bacons and hams. Cooked countless butts and ribs, chicken and turkeys, both whole and in pieces. And also cooked venison quarters and sausage, wild hogs too. I am not a business or restaurant but cook for many school, church, and family functions.

All I can say is thank you. The finished product this smoker turns out is so consistent and so good that I get credit for being a good cook. Tender, moist, and delicious food is what I get every time, and I get to sleep while it cooks. Everything else about the unit is great.

I must also state that the customer service I have received from this company is outstanding. Though I have little need to call on them these days, in the days following my purchase I called them alot and always received great service. Knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant people are all I have ever encountered at Cookshack.

I do not typically write product reviews but felt others should know of this great success story in the world of Q.

"... the meat is fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious"

"I've spent the better part of the past three decades wandering the countryside in search of a better-built smoker. From garage-made fifty-gallon barrel smokers to a number of manufactured models, I've left a trail of smokers that would fill up the bed of a pickup. So, when I heard about Cookshack smokers, I'm thinking to myself, "Oh boy, another smoker..." I first put the Model 50 to the test, smoking a variety of fish and game, and it passed with flying colors. It soon became apparent the Cookshack smokers are well-constructed, built to last and can do more than just smoke fish and game!

When my AmeriQue arrived, I felt like a kid at Christmas. This baby will do all the things my Model 50 can do and more. Not only will it cold-smoke, hot-smoke of slow-smoke any type of fish and game using just a couple of wood chunks, it does the thinking for me. All I have to do to smoke-cook a deer roast is set the temperature, insert the meat probe and go fishing. When I get back, the meat is fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious.

Cookshack smokers are the best on the market, especially if you want a unit that you can pass on to your grandchildren. They're great for waterfowl, big game, upland game and fish. Best of all, I can clear out my smoker graveyard and make room for something much more useful."

...customer service is second to none...

Thank you again Jerry. I am not used to someone responding that quickly. Now all I have to do is scrape up the money and purschase a smoker. I have questioned others and still not have received any response. So I like the products that I see. But even more the customer service is second to none.
Thank you Jerry.

Sincerely,
Kevin Quiel

"Best investment we ever made."

"John, I just came across your business card this evening, and I remembered purchasing my Smoked II from you at the American Royal BBQ in Kansas City in Oct '01.

At the time we were apprehensive about the $400.00 price, but decided to buy it from you. In less than a week it was delivered and we have been smoking ever since. Best investment we ever made.

Our neighbor purchased one last spring, and he loves it too."

"We highly recommend Cookshack ..."

Featured June 2005 in Chile Pepper Magazine's Best of the Big City BBQ's, LJ's BBQ in Providence, RI owes a good part of its success to its Cookshack Model SM250 smoker.  So dependable is "Puff Daddy" as it is named, that its backup counterpart, "Puffette", a Model SM150 purchased in case its predecessor ever went down, has been waiting for its "All About Eve" moment for nearly four years now!  Owners Bernie and Linda Watson cannot say enough good things about how valued a member of the organization our Cookshack "family" of smokers has become.  Our smoker is used every day, sometimes 2 - 3 times a day, and never a failure.  Even more prized is our relationship with our dealer, Bruce Cohen whose mentoring and guidance in all things Cookshack has helped us to fine tune our operation and skills with our smoker.  With fewer parts to break down and the ability to use wood chips vs. stockpiling (and keeping dry!)  whole cords of wood, the Cookshack line is the perfect solution to those with space and storage constraints. We looked at many different brands before purchasing from Cookshack, but none could compete with the ease of operation they offered.  We highly recommend Cookshack anyone serious about the best in BBQ!

"...my cooking has improved since I began using an FEC100"

When Merl Whitebook is not overseeing the judging at KCBS-sanctioned events in Oklahoma and Arkansas he can be found cooking on his FEC100.

Dear Donna and Stuart:

I wanted to take a minute to express to you how my cooking has improved since I began using a FEC100. The ease of use, consistency and taste are the major differences. I have not used a cooking pit/device, which provided me the ability to cook so effortlessly. The consistency of each product is likewise incredible. But the most significant change of course, is the final product. I have surprised myself with the products I am producing with meats smoked in the FEC100.

While the original Cookshack Fast Eddy controller was nice, the new IQ4, offers a new range of flexibilities and possibilities, which I have not fully explored. But while a novice with this controller, the first cooks show great promise. It is exciting to have the flexibility offered when using this controller.

I provided and prepared the food for a banquet of 200 who gathered to celebrate the awarding of the Silver Beaver award to adult Boy Scout leaders who were being recognized for their outstanding efforts to "Keep the Promise" for our scouts. I was asked by many how the meats were prepared. I proudly wore my Cookshack apron and told them of the great products which could be achieved using the FEC100 and Cookshack products.

Thank you again.
Sincerely yours,
Merl A. Whitebook
